Space Houston

We had a really fun day today! Grandmaw came and we all went to Space Center Houston, which Matt calls just Space Houston. This is Matt and Grandmaw about to tour the space shuttle.Matt at the escape hatch of the shuttle!
He looks like he could really control this thing!
Here are Daddy and Matt about the tour the space shuttle!
Evan was enjoying his new ride. It was great to take to the Space Center!

This is the Space Center's futuristic race car!

Next we went on a Tram tour to the training facilities. This is Evan and Grandmaw standing in line. It was super high security!
This is the replica of the International Space Station. All of these are where the astronauts really train. There were people on the floor working on them while we were there.

Again, the real replica of the front of the shuttle. This one rotates up to a 90 degree tilt so the astronauts can train in real situations.

This is the bay where they train!

This is the end of the training floor. The white box is the system that they are working on right now to put on the space station that will change urine into water. We have heard about that on TV and there it is!! That was so cool!

This is the real Saturn V. It came to Houston on a ship and was pulled to this location. Then they built the building around it.

These engines are so huge!

Evan liked the astronauts!

This is the podium that JFK stood behind at Rice when he made his famous speech about the space program going to the moon.

We were looking at the moon rover.

This is Matt touching a real moon rock.

Grandmaw and Evan are looking at big moon rocks!

Matt steering a shuttle!

Matt the Astronaut!

This is called the Martian Matrix. It shots balls all over the place and the kids run after them. Needless to say, Matt loved it!!

This is Matt's souvenir Shuttle that he picked out!

It even came with astronauts to work on it!

We had a great time and can't wait to go back again.
